MSP T1 G Concourse Apron Reconstruction

TKDA Revamps Key Airport Infrastructure, While Maintaining Continuous Operation

TKDA provided professional engineering design and construction administration/observation services to reconstruct the G Concourse Apron, Taxiway B, and Passenger Boarding Bridges at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). The existing concrete pavement had severely deteriorated due to its age and heavy use by wide-body aircraft. We carefully coordinated the construction sequencing to ensure MSP remained in full and continuous operation. Our team worked closely with airport stakeholders to prioritize project safety while maintaining access to aircraft gates, taxiways, and runways. The design team developed aircraft pushback simulations for each impacted gate to prepare Delta Air Lines for operational impacts during construction.
