East Bush Lake Road

New bridge design improves access and relieves congestion

Since its construction in 1960, the East Bush Lake Road (CSAH 28) and I-494 interchange provided access to eastbound I-494, but not westbound I-494. Since then, the Normandale Lake area has experienced significant growth which generated heavy traffic congestions and resulted in the need for the westbound I-494 access. TKDA prepared construction plans and specifications for the new inverted loop bridge design for westbound I-494 on-ramp and the reconstruction of the existing eastbound I-494 on-ramp. The intersection also required modifications to the existing East Bush Lake Road Bridge and replacement of sidewalk and ADA ramps.
